SuperKVM Bluetooth expansion board—target power/reset, IR, NTC, and bidirectional clipboard (requires Target Client) capability boundaries.
EXT BLE Board Answer first: The EXT BLE Board is an optional expansion for USB KVM that adds power/reset, Bluetooth serial, IR, temperature sensing, and bidirectional clipboard paths. It is not a default feature of the three USB bodies. Bidirectional Unicode text, screenshots, and files also require Target Client. Features 1. Keyboard Alt+P direct power on, for some Lenovo machines 2. Bluetooth serial so iPad can connect to the target over Bluetooth for remote control 3. HID backend hub removed; keyboard and mouse VID/PID can be set independently for better security and compliance 4. Control target power on/off and reset; read HDD and Power LED status; physical power and reset buttons brought out 5. Infrared self learning to control other custom infrared devices. Infrared control for downstream KVM switchers; one KVM can control multiple targets 6. Optional external NTC thermistor for real time target temperature 7. Reserved for Wi Fi and BLE to attach wireless peripherals such as finger robots 8. Custom serial data passthrough. Bidirectional clipboard; transfer Chinese text, files, and images (requires target client software) 9. Other IO reserved for secondary development Dimensions 63 27mm Connection The BLE extension board is connected in series between the USB KVM and the host Detailed features 1. F PANEL power control and status monitoring Power on, power off, and reset of the target are performed via the power and reset SW pins on f panel HDD and Power LED status of the target are also read via the LED pins on f panel Note: All signals must be connected in the correct positive/negative polarity order After correct connection, you can control the target and view its LED status on the web (enable expansion board menu display) 1. Physical power and reset buttons The TGT PWR button corresponds to the target's physical power button The TGT RST button corresponds to the target's physical reset button 3. HID mode selection The DIP switch is for HID mode selection and supports 3 modes 1. BLE mode 2. USB wired 3. 2.4G, requires a dongle connector Default is the middle position 4. Bidirectional clipboard KVM HID is unidirectional, so by default you can only write ASCII to the target system. With our BLE expansion board and the target client software, bidirectional clipboard is supported 4.1 Download the client software Download the client: EXT BLE Client 4.2 Connect the device See: connect the ext ble board 4.3 Start the target client Run the client. Mac and Windows clients are available. After starting the client, connect to the serial device named "EXT EXT CDC" 4.4 Bidirectional clipboard sync Client clipboard UI Web clipboard UI Currently 3 data types are supported: text, screenshots, and files Text: click Send, and the text enters the peer clipboard app and is inserted into the system clipboard; paste with Ctrl+V Screenshot: click Send, and the screenshot is sent packet by packet to the peer clipboard; on success it enters the system clipboard; paste with Ctrl+V File: file handling differs. From target to Host, click Send in the client; after Host receives it, the web shows a file picker to save locally. From Host to target, click "Send file" on the web, choose the file, then send; after the target client receives it, the file is saved to a sibling subdirectory of the clipboard app and inserted into the system clipboard; paste with Ctrl+V After the client receives content, it is inserted into the system clipboard by default. Our host is the Chrome browser, so the browser needs clipboard access permission 5. Temperature monitoring The expansion board supports 2 NTC thermistor channels for real time target temperature, reported every 5s 6. Expansion board upgrade Similar to KVM upgrade 7.
